App: Messages: SMS Text Launcher
Efective date: August 27, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how the developer of Messages: SMS Text Launcher ("we", "us", or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information when you use our mobile application (the "App"). The App is an SMS/MMS messaging app with related features such as caller identification and notifications. By downloading or using the App, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. Information We Collect
- Information you provide – if you contact support or fill in optional fields, we may receive your name, email address, and the content of your request.
- Messages and contacts – to work as your messaging app, the App accesses your SMS/MMS messages and your contacts on your device. Message content is used to provide messaging features (displaying, sending, receiving, organizing, and notifying you about messages). We do not sell your messages or contacts.
- Call information – with your permission, call state and call log information is used to provide caller identification and call-related features.
- Location data – with your permission, approximate or precise location may be used for location-based features and, where you consent, for advertising and analytics purposes. You can decline or revoke the location permission at any time.
- Device and usage data – device model, operating system version, app version, language, region, IP address, advertising identifier, crash reports and diagnostics, feature usage, and ad interaction data.
- App usage information – if you grant the Usage Access permission in system settings, the App reads general app usage information on your device to support its launcher and usage-related features.
2. Permissions We Request
The App requests only the permissions needed for its features:
- READ_SMS, SEND_SMS, RECEIVE_SMS, RECEIVE_MMS – send, receive, and display your SMS/MMS messages so the App can function as your messaging app.
- READ_CONTACTS, WRITE_CONTACTS – show who you are messaging and match incoming calls to your saved contacts.
- READ_PHONE_STATE, CALL_PHONE, FOREGROUND_SERVICE_PHONE_CALL – provide caller identification and call-related features.
- ACCESS_COARSE_LOCATION, ACCESS_FINE_LOCATION – enable optional location-based features, only with your permission.
- CAMERA – capture photos to attach in messages.
- READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE – access device storage to select images, videos, or files.
- READ_MEDIA_IMAGES – access images on the device for messaging.
- PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS (Usage Access) – a special permission you grant separately in system settings, used to read general app usage information on your device to support the App's launcher and usage-related features.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS – alert you about new messages and blocked or missed activity.
- INTERNET, ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE, WAKE_LOCK, RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED, SCHEDULE_EXACT_ALARM, REQUEST_IGNORE_BATTERY_OPTIMIZATIONS – system permissions used to deliver your messages and notifications reliably, even after a device restart.
You can revoke any permission at any time in your device settings; doing so may limit the related feature.
